Durability and extended end-use life are demands that consumers take for granted and continuous improvement is expected year on year. Paint adhesion and corrosion resistance are critical factors in keeping end-use applications in a condition that is expected to remain in place for their usable lifetime.
Durable paint adhesion and corrosion resistance on strip metal can only be achieved through chemical conditioning the top metal surface, prior to coil coating. Much of the chemistry worldwide has been based on hexavalent chromium; however this is being severely restricted in its use due to health concerns.
The past two decades AD CCT transformed its conventional conversion coatings in to PrimeCoat® ‘no-rinse’ pretreatments, which are free of hexavalent chromium.
A suitable pretreatment will attribute to improved properties of painted flat metal sheet:
