Chrome III PrimeCoat® Z838-4P passivation enhances the protection of coated steel against moisture, condensation, storage conditions, transportation, and environmental impacts.

According to test data in the product documentation, the performance of ASTM B117 neutral salt spray coating on galvanized steel can range from approximately 96 hours to over 500 hours depending on the coating quantity. With a Galvalume base, the reference results are over 500 hours to over 750 hours, depending on the application conditions.

Chrome 3 passivation test results

In the condensation test at 40°C, 99% relative humidity for 1,000 hours, quantitative levels of 20 mg Cr/m² or higher passed on galvanized steel substrates. On Galvalume substrates, levels of 30 mg Cr/m² or higher also passed according to the test table.
